Art and poetry converge to redefine tradition in AKSHAR – AN ABSTRACT EDITION by Chunchun, a mesmerizing celebration of Devanagari calligraphy reimagined as contemporary abstract expressionism. The exhibition invites audiences on a visual journey where traditional scripts evolve into bold, modern masterpieces, reflecting the harmony of heritage and innovation.

On display at the Hutheesing Visual Arts Gallery, CEPT Campus, from 23rd to 26th December 2024, this vibrant collection showcases Chunchun’s mastery of freehand strokes, fluid acrylic pours, and layered hues. Her canvases, brought to life with brushes, knives, and creative tools, weave tales of color and movement, each painting a distinct story that flows seamlessly into the greater narrative of the collection.
Chunchun’s dedication to the art of acrylic pouring, honed over years of practice, gives her work a fluid dynamism that mirrors the motion of script in writing. Each piece strikes a balance between bold and delicate, past and present, forming a compelling dialogue between tradition and modernity.
Adding depth to this visual experience is the poetic artistry of Anish J. Vadhavaniya, who has been crafting evocative couplets since the age of sixteen. His words are thoughtfully paired with Chunchun’s works, offering a lyrical dimension that amplifies the essence of AKSHAR. Together, they create a symphony of visual and literary storytelling that resonates with emotion and meaning.
