Called the “oriental lion” this sculpture was made from a single sequoia tree trunk that has been transformed into a giant lion, made by 20 people in 3 years.

Architect Dengding Rui Yao and his team were commissioned to carve a massive redwood trunk.With only one idea in mind, the lion. Considered the strongest in the animal kingdom and symbolizes majesty, courage and strength.

Knowing that sequoia are gigantic tree trunks, it took them 3 years to complete the lion sculpture. This sculptureproudly has a place in the central city of China, and the path it has traveled makes it even more incredible.

At 47.5 feet long, 16.5 feet tall and 13 feet wide, it was completed in 2015, and is now located on Fortune Plaza Times Square in Wuhan, China.
